Spit.E.Zen

Here's someone I've been listening to lately. Seemingly coming out of nowhere, this contemporary, political wordsmith adds raw emotion to his talent for writing, with impressive results.

The music of Spit.E.Zen is often dark, humorous, tragic, and sometimes a bit disturbing. I would not recommend it to anyone in a mentally bad place, and those of you ostriches out there (who bury your heads when it comes to real world issues) will recoil in horror as Spit.E.Zen challenges the status quo and possibly all you believe in. But that's a good thing. You need challenging.

The underlying beats and tunes (of which I know not the origin) coupled with the global issues covered, give a strong feel of Immortal Technique. It's far from being an imitation, but there is definitely some influence here.

His origins are unknown. Perhaps he was raised by foxes in a run-down area of Hackney, or maybe he's a posh-kid ashamed of his privileged upbringing. Maybe he's just a Banksy rap-off rip-off.

For whatever reason, Spit-E-Zen decides to mask his true identity. Maybe one day we'll see the man behind the mask.

Feel his pain.

Have a listen,

To the one and only
