Ruining Potential

(The Law of Four/Motions of Emotion part three)

Ruining Potential

Not today, perfect stranger,
Must hurry, avoiding danger,
Feeling cursed, somewhat crippled.
Neurosis high, worries tripled.

Shutters down, curtains drawn.
Conspiring voices, paranoia borne.
Lock door, deactivate phone,
Payment due, another loan.

Oppressors are watching always,
Poisoning your lemon haze.
Often difficult to evade,
I dread being afraid.

Now overcome, drop guard.
Early steps, especially hard.
Perseverance, calm, both essential,
Stop fear ruining potential.

A Gentle Flower

Love is a gentle flower,
A beautiful sight to see;
Beginning life as a bud,
Unsure of what is to be;
It carefully opens up,
Absorbing sunlight for free;
Then shows its true colours while,
Blossoming beautifully.

A flower that has been picked,
Has a future that is bleak;
It withers and browns quickly,
Starts to die within a week;
The beauty is lost for good,
Never regaining its peak;
To find the strongest petals,
Within nature one must seek.

Love's flower's no different,
The rest of the plant's a must;
The roots are stability,
While the stamen is the lust;
The seeds are the potential,
The stem is support and trust;
With these key ingredients,
Nature is fair and just.

Photosynthesising joy,
Enough to last the dark night;
But even in the darkness,
The flower seeks out the light;
Instinct acts as a compass,
Highlighting paths left and right;
Somebody said love is blind,
But it has no need for sight.

Once the flower's at its best,
Honey bees move in with haste;
They can't resist temptation,
Leaving with legs that are laced;
In the flower's sweet nectar,
Because all will want a taste;
The flower's happy to share,

Because love's a shame to waste.

Love's Sight

(The Law of Four/Motions of Emotion part two)

Love's Sight

The Green Goddess winks,
Then my anxiety shrinks.
Enter! Blissful zen shower,
Blossom well gentle flower.

While Valerian healer nurses,
Sweeping away karmic curses,
Sleep a thousand sleeps,
Awake when imagination leaps.

Free from any complications,
Low, soft, smooth vibrations,
Echo through head space,
Fortune falling into place.

Yang with no yin,
Like confession without sin.
Shine on, bright light,
Rest within Love's sight.

Sick Boy

(The Law of Four/Motions of Emotion part one)

Sick Boy

Wake up, vigor numb,
Stay home, feel dumb.
Spirit's crushed, soul drained,
Drugs, alcohol, culprits blamed.

Desires evaded, dreams culled,
Talent wasted, options mulled.
Titlted scales, economy pinched,
Stones cast, motivation lynched.

Uninvited, forgotten, shunned joy,
Useless, worthless, sick boy.
Mood killer, attention seeker,
Flake, disappointment, confidence weaker.

Before dawn, excuses ready,
Voice confident, hand steady.
Come tomorrow, walk alone,
Try again, future unknown.

The Law of Four/Motions of Emotion

I started a four part poem series a while back called The Law of Four/Motions of Emotion

It was an experiment in word craft really. I will start to post them.

I Dream

I dreamed a dream of the night before,
When I awoke I was craving more.
T'was purer and truer than any real thing,
Where the people, they dance and the birds, they sing,
But a song of peace and a dance of love,
A happiness shining down from above.
When I awoke, oh my eyes, they burned,
Denying the truth that I had learned,
The land that appears in my own dream,
Does not exist, or so it would seem.
The world where I live is not one of peace,
You can plaster a crack, iron a crease,
But the scars of this world, remain forever,
My life is devoted to this endeavour.
To change for good, I'll find peace only then.
Or perhaps I'll just go to sleep again.

Silhouettes

Flown from the Angles on July fifteen,
A triple sided commune, the plan pristine.
But plans they can change, as people sure do,
So evolve and adapt, and come up with a new.
Make camp near the Rock and try to survive,
And better our future, for this we strive.
Analysing the past with each careful move,
With eyes on the future, we look to improve,
The situation around and the situation we're in,
Working smarter, not harder, that's the way to win.

Don't surround oneself, with a simple 'here here'
Be called to account, by those who remain near.
Self affirmation, is taken to extremes,
But very little comfort can be sought in memes.
Without the people to back up, the ideas and insight,
Knowledge and wisdom, we use to enlight,
The world we inhabit, and the people around,
We mustn't forget, that we are all bound,
By subjective experience, and collection shared,
Intellectual interpretation, that should be aired.

This is for old and new, faithful friends,
For those who've helped us through The Bends.
For the family we're given and the family we choose,
For whose in our corner, whether we win or we lose.
Appreciation is present, indeed it's sincere,
Know we are close, even when we're not near.
Images in my mind, memories start to crack,
Melancholy overwhelms, when we look back.
'Cause your faces are so clear, this feeling is stark,
But we're just silhouettes, silhouettes in Stoke Park.

Reminisce on occasion, more than I'm certain,
See us again before the final curtain.
Souls altogether, not a single one bored,
Truth in my heart, we'll always have the Ford.
In time things'll change, again and again,
Stop to look around, every now and then.
Forward with conviction, don't delay,
Maybe you'll see us on the way.
Enjoying the now, 'cause I know we'll soon be,
Silhouettes once again, silhouettes by the sea.
